  • Tips For Applying For the RN Certification Program

    • Verify your certification date to determine your anniversary date. This is the date you were initially certified, and it appears on your credential paperwork/certificate is your anniversary date.  Knowing this date ensures you submit your application within the required 60‑day window. Applications submitted outside the 60‑day window will be denied.

    • Confirm your certification will remain valid for at least six months from the date you submit your application. Certifications expiring sooner may not meet program requirements. Applications submitted with a certification set to expire within six months will be denied.

    • Understand your renewal date. Each certifying body sets its own recertification schedule, and some renewal dates appear on the certificate while others do not. It’s important to remember that your renewal exam date is not the same as your certification anniversary date.
      • If you were certified on January 1, 2000, your certification might expire on December 31, 2003, and your renewal exam could be scheduled for October 12, 2003. In most cases, the certifying body renews your credential without changing your original certification date, so your anniversary date remains January 1, which is the date you continue to use when applying.

These tips are designed to set you up for success! If you have any additional questions or concerns not addressed please submit and AskHr ticket with the topic being "RN Certification inquiry" so we can address your inquiry promptly.
